What we do with your information.
Purple Pushpin is a product of Purple Wave Creative LLC. This page explains what happens to information when you browse this website, when you email us, and when we host a website for your organization.
Last updated 30 September 2026.
The short version
- This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read. There are no advertising pixels and no third-party tracking — nobody is following you around after you leave.
- There is one form on this site — “Check back with me,” on the pricing and comparison pages. If you fill it in, we keep your email address, your organization’s name if you give it, and when your current software renews, so we can write to you once, when it’s useful. Otherwise, if you want to reach us you email us.
- Nobody goes on our mailing list unless they put themselves there. We never buy lists, and we never sell, rent or share anyone’s name or contact details.
- When we host your organization’s website, your members’ information belongs to you. We do not sell it, rent it, share it, or market to your members. Ever.
- Payments go straight to your own Stripe account. We never receive, hold or touch your money, and full card numbers never reach your website.
- You can export everything and leave whenever you like, without asking us and without anything having gone wrong.
When you visit this website
We use Google Analytics 4 on purplepushpin.com to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets cookies beginning _ga, records your approximate location from your IP address, and tells us things like which page you arrived on and how long you stayed. It does not tell us your name, and we do not try to work out who you are. We have it switched off for anyone signed in to the site, so our own work does not show up in the numbers.
There are no advertising pixels, no session recorders and no social media trackers. We do not run ads against you, and we do not share this data with advertising networks. If you would rather not be counted at all, Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics everywhere, and any tracker-blocking extension will do the same.
The site sets a small number of functional cookies — the ones WordPress and the site’s theme need in order to work, such as remembering a light or dark display preference. They do not identify you, they do not follow you to other websites, and they do not feed an advertising profile.
Like every website on the internet, our host keeps standard server logs: IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. These exist for security and troubleshooting, are not linked to any individual, and are not used for marketing.
When you email us
Our email addresses are published on the contact page. When you write to us, we hold your message and your email address for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a record of what we discussed — the same way any business keeps its correspondence.
We do not add you to a mailing list because you emailed us.
When you ask us to check back
If you use the “Check back with me” form, we keep what you typed — your email address, and your organization’s name and renewal month if you gave them — along with the page you signed up on, the date, and the exact sentence you agreed to, so there is a record of what you asked for.
We use it for one thing: writing to you about Purple Pushpin, about 60 days before your renewal, or about three months after you signed up if you didn’t say when. It lives in this website’s own database, is never published anywhere on the site, and is never shared, sold or added to anyone else’s list.
Reply to any email from us and ask us to stop, and we’ll remove you. Ask us to delete what we hold, and we will.
Our newsletter
We plan to start an occasional newsletter. When we do, the only way onto it will be signing up yourself. We will never add you because you emailed us, asked us to check back, or appear on someone else’s list. We will never buy a list, and we will never sell, rent or share the names and addresses on ours. Every issue will carry a way to leave, and leaving will take one click.
When you use the demo
The demo lives at demo.purplepushpin.com. When you start one, the page loads WordPress Playground — a free service run by the WordPress project — and it builds a complete practice website inside your browser. To do that, your browser downloads WordPress and the plugins it needs from playground.wordpress.net and wordpress.org, where their privacy terms apply, and the Purple Pushpin software from our own server.
The practice site is not a real chamber or association; every business, person and event in it is invented. Anything you type or upload into it, including photos, stays in your browser and is gone when you close the tab. It never reaches us. The demo doesn’t ask for your email, and the demo page doesn’t run Google Analytics.
When we host your organization’s website
This is the part that matters if you are a chamber, an association or a chapter considering us.
What is stored, and where
Your website is a WordPress site on hosting registered in your organization’s name. Your member records, event registrations, invoices, documents and email history live in that site’s own database — not in a shared platform database alongside other organizations. Backups are taken so the site can be restored if something breaks.
Payments
Registration and dues payments go directly into your organization’s own Stripe account. We do not receive, hold, route or have access to your funds at any point. Full card numbers are collected by Stripe and never touch your website or our systems; your site stores only what you would see on a receipt.
Who can see your members’ information
Your board and whoever you give an account to. We can access your site to provide support, install updates and fix things — that access exists to keep your site working, and we use it for that.
We do not sell, rent, trade or share your members’ information with anybody. We do not use your member list to market Purple Pushpin, to your members or to anyone else. If another organization asks us for your data, the answer is no.
Getting your data out, and leaving
Members, registrations, payments and documents are exportable at any time, without asking us and without anything having gone wrong. It is a standard WordPress site, so if you decide to go elsewhere, it moves to any host and any competent WordPress developer can work on it. Your domain stays registered in your organization’s name throughout.
Your members’ rights are yours to answer
If one of your members asks you to correct or delete their information, you can do it yourself from your own admin screens. If you would rather we did it, ask and we will.
The companies we rely on
We keep this list short on purpose, and it is the complete one:
- Hostinger — web hosting for this site and for the sites we build.
- Google Workspace — our own email and file storage.
- Google Analytics — visit statistics for this marketing site only. It is not installed on the sites we build for clients.
- Stripe — card processing, through your organization’s own account rather than ours.
- WordPress Playground — the public demo, which runs in your browser.
We do not use advertising networks, data brokers or marketing platforms that would receive your information.
Your rights, wherever you are
Whatever privacy law applies where you live, you can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will do it. We will not charge you for asking, and we will not make the site worse for you because you asked.
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, or you are a California resident, those laws give you specific versions of these rights. We will honour them on request — and because we collect so little to begin with, in most cases the honest answer to “what do you have on me” is an email you sent us.
Children
Nothing we make is directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child’s information has ended up with us, tell us and we will remove it.
If this policy changes
We will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant — if we ever start collecting something we do not collect today — we will say so plainly here rather than quietly editing a sentence.
